The client
Established in 1991 as a finishing works company. Renowned for its excellence in construction and finishing works, Rom Geves stands as a leading force in the Israeli construction industry.
The challenge
Before embarking on our collaborative journey, Rom Geves relied on manual Excel sheets for cost estimation and manual emails for distributing quotes to subcontractors. Despite having an organized system, there was a recognition of the need to transition to a more comprehensive cost estimation process within a centralized system. The goal was clear: reduce work time and human errors, eliminate rework, and uncover any unnoticed errors.
The result:
- End-to-End System Integration:
Today, the entire cost estimation process is executed within a centralized system, systematically documenting every step. This allows for easy retrospective analysis, enhancing understanding and troubleshooting. - Reduced Human Errors:
With all proposals received from subcontractors entering the system, there is better control and prevention of human errors. The system provides a mechanism for verification and error prevention. - Increased Efficiency:
Each estimator can now handle more bids, saving over 50% of time. This efficiency gain enables them to estimate costs for a significantly higher number of projects with the same manpower. - Informed Decision-Making:
Historical data is leveraged to refine cost estimates and manage risks more effectively. The cost estimates are now much more precise, leading to more informed decision-making. - Accelerated Transition to Execution:
The transition from budgeting to execution, which used to take around a month, is now nearly instantaneous. Projects move into execution much faster, preventing the loss of critical bid information during the transition.
In summary, the adoption of a centralized system has not only streamlined cost estimation processes but has also enhanced accuracy, efficiency, and decision-making in Rom Geves’ construction management workflow.
